About us
Lightcraft provides specialist laser show services in New Zealand. We are based in Te Whanganui-a-tara, Wellington. We use the unique characteristics of lasers to create complex beam profiles, pattern mapping, and interactive displays, drawing inspiration from the order and chaos of natural and built environments.
We have installed and performed a broad range of laser shows for events big and small. We deliver services to suit outdoor festivals, clubs, interactive public events, and mapping.
Laser safety
Lasers are beautiful but only when they are operated safety. That is why we follow the AS/NZS IEC 60825.3:2016 standards for laser shows.
Safety measures include emergency stop systems, Laser Safety Officer (LSO) supervision and ensuring that people are not exposed to laser light above the safe exposure level (2.5mW per cm²).
When lasers are being directed into airspace, we coordinate with the Civil Aviation Authority and Air Traffic Control to ensure no disruption is caused.

Our equipment
Our flagship lasers are manufactured by laser industry leader KVANT. We use their patented "BeamBrush" technology to add further depth and flexibility into our shows. BeamBrush allows the thickness of the laser beam to be manipulated, which gives the beam a "wash" look.
Our gear includes:
-
KVANT Beambrush-enabled lasers lead the show with their distinctive profile
-
Support lasers that range up to 35-watt beam strength, appropriate for arena and large outdoor events
-
An E-stop system that immediately shuts off lasers in an emergency
-
Fog systems that maintain atmosphere to bring the most impact out of the lighting rig
-
Software for every situation including Beyond Ultimate, Touchdesigner, and Madmapper to provide flexible and adaptable laser designs that can coordinate with video and audio content.

Lightcraft has performed at music festivals such as Twisted Frequency, Yatra Festival, and Taniwhas Den. We regularly outfit club events in Wellington.
Our interactive LaserDreams installation featured as one of the major attractions at Te Ramaroa Nelson Festival of Lights 2023, and we operated the 2022 mid-winter Christmas laser show in Greytown.
